Arketa Institute for Post-Growth Finance is a think tank focused on normalizing the ideas of ecological economics and a post-growth economy within the financial sector. These ideas are part of the solution to addressing climate change, overshoot, inequality and other pressing issues that are not currently addressed by modern finance.  

Our goal is to support our fellow financial professionals in learning about these topics so we can develop more genuinely sustainable financial instruments on a solid, science-informed basis: ecological economics.

“Arketa” is the Greek word for “enough”. We chose that word to name our think tank to signify that we have “enough” resources to provide humanity with a level of well-being sufficient for everyone. We also think we should say “enough” to the pursuit of economic growth for growth’s sake. And, when we each have “enough”, we can experience genuine satisfaction, instead of the constant longing for more.
